Another really good album from Witchwood. I really like their classic rock leanings. The two cover songs are done very well and are originally both from bands I’ve listened to since my teenage years. I’m eagerly awaiting the next album: there’s just not enough bands out there creating this type of rock anymore. More, more, more...
Favorite track: Handful of Stars (Alternate Version).

This is damn good. They took everything great about 70s Progressive Rock, and left out all the bad. A little Jethro Tull, a dash of Supertramp and a sprinkle of early Judas Priest, blended with modern sensibilities and a whole lot of their own inspiration.

𝓛itanies fully recited, the woods have been cleared and become a triumph of yore. Now Witchwood encounter a cloudless sky and exalt an elect number of burning cosmic beacons. The Rainbow Demons and Flaming Telepaths have decreed All Hallows' Evening as the stage for their next conquest.
Favorite track: A Grave is the River.
In 2014, from the ashes of the cult band Buttered Bacon Biscuits (BBB), were born the Witchwood which released in 2010 "From the Solitary Woods", distribuited by "Black Widow Records" and positively reviewed by many italian and foreign music magazines and websites. To support that album BBB played in many gigs around Italy, also supporting important bands like Uriah Heep, Jethro Tull, Bud Spencer Blues Explosion, etc. They also released in 2013 “A National Acrobat” cover for the Black Sabbath tribute “Hands of Doom” for Mag Music Production. After the BBB split, some members of the band, Ricky, Andy, Steve and Sam, have decided, with the entry of new member Luca Celotti on bass, to start a new project, Witchwood. All musicians active for decades, with past recording experience and collaborations with artists like Martin Grice (Delirium) and Nik Turner (Hawkwind). Debut "Litanies from the woods" is the result of 2 years of composition, long and hard rehersal and recording sessions and is out for Jolly Roger Records in May 2015 on Cd and Digital and October 2015 on 2 Lp. With the considerable lenght of 78 minutes the album features ten tracks and is a long journey from hard rock 70's, to progressive, psych, southern rock and blues and receives excellent reviews both from Italian and foreign press, and also very good selling-results (Cd second run, 500 double Lps near to sold out in few months). Recently Witchwood were voted as "best emerging band in 2015" for Rock Hard (Ita) Magazine and reached the final in the Wacken Metal Battle competition. "Handful of Stars" features 3 brand new tracks written for this release, 2 covers ("Flaming Telepath" of Blue Oyster Cult e "Rainbow Demon" of Uriah Heep, a sort of homage and tribute to these two great bands, so important for Witchwood's musical journey) and an unreleased version of suite "Handful of Stars" (from "Litanies from the Woods") with a new breathless intro, for 45 minutes of music. "Handful of Stars" is the right way to celebrate the appreciations received for the debut album, to present new guitarist Antonino Stella, valued session-man and longtime Ricky's friend, and new videoclip of the title-track, realized by artist Dimitri Corradini:
