Alrihkh The tracks on this album are all equally great, in their own way. The Golden King is probably my fave. Great variety on this album, and Witchwood are more than worthy torchbearers of the classic progrock sound, in the current age. It's wonderful to discover there’s still some souls creating music in the classic rock style I’ve loved since my youth. With shades of Zeppelin, Sabbath, Heep, and Tull all present, you can’t go wrong with this piece of art. 9+/10. Fave LP on BC, thus far! Favorite track: FAREWELL TO THE OCEAN BOULEVARD.

Bob Chamberlin love the 70's feel about the music. Like a blend of Jethro Tull, Uriah Heep, Black Sabbath... with a very distinct path forward from these bands

In 2014, from the ashes of the cult band Buttered Bacon Biscuits (BBB), were born the WITCHWOOD. BBB released in 2010 the album "From the solitary woods", distribuited by "Black Widow Records" and positively reviewed by many italian and foreign music magazines and websites (Metal Maniac, Rock Hard, Metal Hammer, Jam, Classix, Rumore, W.S., Rockerilla, Italian Metal, Heavy Impact, Perkele and many others). BBB have played in many gigs around Italy, also supporting important bands like Uriah Heep, Jethro Tull, Bud Spencer Blues Explosion, etc.
They also released in 2013 “A National Acrobat” cover for the Black Sabbath tribute “Hands of Doom” for Mag Music Production. After the split, some members of the band, Ricky, Andy, Steve and Sam, have decided, with the entry of new member Luca Celotti on bass, to start a new project, the WITCHWOOD. All musicians, active for decades, with past recording experience with band like Bad Ambition (Andy), Excrucior and Witche's Brew (Ricky) and collaborations with artists like Martin Grice (Delirium) and Nik Turner (Hawkwind). Debut album "Litanies from the woods" features ten tracks and is a well balanced mix of hard rock, progressive, psych and southern rock with an obscure and vintage 70's attitude.

OMG, late to the party but this is some of the best occult infused doom stoner tackle I've ever heard. Reference points include Sabbath (obvs), especially with the Ozzy-esque vocals but there's also the melodiousness of early Heep mixing with a more contemporary occult rock sound. It starts in the 70's and makes it to the present day. The riffs are huge but it's their way with a hook that elevates this from your average doom/stoner fare. Very wonderful indeed! egg-magoo
