Memento Waltz was born in 1994 in Tempio Pausania (Sardinia, Italy) by the mind of Gabriele Maciocco, Livio Poier and Giuseppe Deiana. After the release of an self-produced Ep called "Overcoming" (quickly sold-out) in 2004 and the entry of the singer Marco Piu (also in Negacy) in 2006, thanks to the second self-produced Ep "Antithesis of Time" recorded in October 2010 , only for fanclub and promo purposes, the band played live in the prestigious Progpower Europe 2011 (The Netherlands), along with bands like Symphony X, Redemption, Mekong Delta. Year by year new influences and musical growth forged an unique sound, a perfect marriage of psychedelic melodies, dark and introspective atmospheres, polyhedral rhythms and lyrics of dreams and excited mind states, mainly inspired by bands like King Crimson, Ark, Watchtower, but also Spiral Architect and a great variety of jazz-oriented genres. The result is the debut album "Division By Zero", originally released only as self-production in October 2013, reissued on Cd and Lp by Jolly Roger Records together with the reprint of the debut Ep "Antithesis Of Time".

"You can really hear and feel how experienced the band is in terms of song writing and structure. Livi (guitars), Giuseppe (bass) and Gabriele (drums) have technique, virtuosity, but their compositions are not hermetic. On the contrary, it flows, punctuated with fine breaks, bridges, solos. And what about Marco Piu? His voice is a kind of DNA mix between Rob Halford and Kelly Shaefer and matches the music perfectly" 93/100 [POWEROFMETAL.DK]

"Antithesis of Time" display a band in great form. The music is not only performed with great skill, but the tracks are structurally challenging and quite demanding, which should be a treat to fans of the more technical part of the progressive metal genre. I´m quite impressed 4/5 [PROG-ARCHIVES]
